It has grayish green foliage with white undersides and tinges of silver. The narrow leaves remain grayish green throughout the winter. The fruits are showy brown pods displayed from early summer to early winter. The smooth gray bark adds an interesting dimension to the landscape. Its average texture blends into the landscape, but can be balanced by one or two finer or coarser trees or shrubs for an effective composition.
